MOBOTIX CAMERAS - WHY MOBOTIX ?
It could be argued that Mobotix cameras are the most advanced cameras in the world. There are three key areas that differentiate Mobotix from every other brand on the market:
- Robust construction and extended shelf life.
- Decentralised installation and greatly reduced onsite infrastructure.
- Global leaders in VSS Cybersecurity.

Rugged Construction– Mobotix cameras undergo extensive individual quality control because there is so much more to these cameras than meets the eye. The camera bodies are Polycarbonate as opposed to aluminium in normal cameras which gives them an incredibly extended shelf life of up to 80,000 hrs or 9 years compared to 35,000 hrs or 3 to 4 years of normal cameras.
The cameras operate in the most extreme climates on earth like Antartica where a Mobotix camera has continuously run for nearly 10 years in -65 degrees Celsius and windspeeds of 250km/hr at O’Higgins Base, the German Antarctic Aerospace Receiving Station monitoring the radio telescope?? All lenses in Mobotix Cameras are treated with a Nano Coating which prevents dust and water sticking to the lens. The best way to clean a Mobotix camera is hit it with a hose!
Decentralised – Mobotix cameras are a ‘stand-alone’ when it comes to installation. All other network cameras except Mobotix need additional infrastructure like NVRs and Servers on sight to accept, encode and store the video stream. This is an expensive additional cost and with more components comes higher risk of failure. With Mobotix the encoding and encrypting is done on the camera as each camera has an inbuilt Linux Server (computer). Once encrypted the stream can be sent straight to the cloud from the camera, less moving parts and highly secure. Every frame is captured in detail..

Cybersecurity – In a world full of hackers and rouge regimes digital or cybersecurity has to be considered in every purchase of online devices. The recent banning by the Australian Government of all new Chinese manufactured cameras in federal and state government facilities like defence, highlights this point.
Mobotix are the most secure cameras on the planet, they comply with the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) framework which is the standard set by US and EU regulators for watertight cybersecurity in all online devices and organisations.
